Sea World

We have returned home!  A weekend at Sea World can really take it out of a gal!

That is Tyler down in the left hand corner.  He sat there for all of 2 minutes before being completely drenched.  Traumatizing at that moment, but now he's proud that he was splashed by Shamu.

On a side note:

I have found out (though I think I secretly always knew) while on our trip to Sea World, that I am a horrible casual photo taker. I can't seem to stop my mind from working. If I am hired or have my mind set on an artistic goal, it becomes my total focus. I don't find this really conducive to being in the moment with my son's first experience at Sea World.

I am sorry that I don't have more photos to show, but I don't really regret it. We all enjoyed ourselves whole-heartedly!

I understand the obsession to get the perfect shot - which was my reluctance to join the 30 days thing - just feeling like it would take me forever to get a shot...

But I am SO happy you got the adorable shots you did AND that you had a good time. Photography is a reminder of where we have been - and shouldn't be grabbing us from the moment. So bravo - it sounds like a victory.

So much fun, looks like Tyler had such a great time! And being splashed by Shamu is the greatest honor of Sea World.

Umber is a terrible casual picture taker because she is always SO in the moment that even though her camera may be in her hand, she has completely forgotten about it.

On vacations we end up with 10 pictures for the week that we were on vacation. And then those 10 pictures are all things she was looking at and trying to get cool pictures of; ie- up close shots of leaves, rocks, sticks. "Where were we then? I don't know, but look at the vein structure in that leaf!"

I'm exactly the same way. You should have seen me trying to get the perfect picture of the flamingos. I finally gave up, the P&S camera just wasn't cutting it for me! I didn't take my professional camera for a reason.
