Start of sick season

And I have kicked it off with a throbbing throat infection. I'll spare you the details, but just wanted to inform everyone of why I have not been posting (I am not delinquent this time!).

In other news, I sent my alphabet themed package on the 18th to my assigned partner. If you are not participating in this, you must not read Emily's blog! Shame on you. I think I nailed my letter. I can't wait to see who/what letter I receive.

I will diligently be checking my mail EVERY day until it arrives. No I do not have mail delivered to my home. This is because I live off the grid. Okay, not completely, but we do have acreage, a well, and desert as far as the eye can see. Oh, and don't forget the burro. So until the time comes that I have a paved road (rather than a wash board dirt road), I will have to make do with a PO Box. I hate writing my return address with a PO Box.

(get ready for a complete change of subject)

How many of you hate getting hot tea from Starbucks? (raises hand) I have tried it on a couple occasions, each time thinking it will be better than the last. This morning I felt the need for something warm to sooth my throat. Gripe #1 - The use of 2 teabags. This just seems excessive to me and makes the tea unbearably strong. Gripe #2 - The tea tastes like cardboard. It must just be the absorbing of the cardboard coffee cup, but ew. This makes me wonder how much of my latte's flavor is being compromised. Needless to say, I was thoroughly unsatisfied with my tea.

I could gripe about other stuff, but I won't. This throat is putting me in a grumpy mood and I need to not give into it (too much).

Something positive - My hair turned out fabulous today. I have no idea how as I put in as little effort as possible since my scalp/skin is super sensitive when I'm sick. Maybe it's not fabulous, maybe I'm just delirious. Who cares why or how, at least I have great hair (or the perception of) while sick. It's something to feel better about.

oh! there is nothing like a good hair day to boost a girl's spirits.

my main gripe about sbucks tea is the freaking temperature of the water! it completely scalds the tea leaves...

note: next time ask for only one tea bag.

BEST SICK TEA EVER:
hot water
1/2 lemon
TONS OF HONEY

(honey coats throat, lemon cuts the mucous {gross}, and hot water is like jesus...)

i hope you feel better too.

OH! I can't wait to get my letter package too! That was a super fun little assignment!

Yeah, I'm gonna have to second Mme. on the hot water/lemon/honey - I drink like 4 cups of that a day when I'm sick (the last one often has a little nip of whisky in it too - warms you up on the inside!), punctuated with "Traditional Medicine's Throat Coat." That tea is the BEST at soothing the angry throat, I promise, tell John to go score a box for you today!

I know you meant to spare the details but " throbbing throat infection" was rather detailed:)

Hope you are finally feeling better...I'm sure that a trip to Phoenix did the trick.
