My space

The latest project from the Persisting Souls Course is to show/write about your workspace. Showing was the obvious choice! I don't really have a dedicated workspace at the moment and this definitely has it's pluses and minuses. I love that I'm never away from the hub of my family, but there are always wires... always! Wires are the bane of my life.

We plan to eventually build a room downstairs for office use, but until then, this work really well. I usually swap between the couch and dining room table so I took photos of both. I know there are an exorbitant about of photos, but it's better than me writing a few paragraphs trying to describe the space right? Also, I'm quite proud of our space. Very proud actually. It was built almost entirely by my dad and husband with me coming in at the end for finishing details such as tile.

John hates my habit of leaving little bits and pieces everywhere. Bobby pins, jewelry and teabags are the usual culprits.

That pipe is actually used to clear out dirt underneath concrete slabs. It's easily taken down for when it needs used!

I have gobs and gobs of film to develop! I just can't stand the prices and there is nowhere local that develops film.

I made the shelf recently out of black pipe found at the hardware store. I think the total cost was around $30 and the guys working there got a real kick out of helping me figure it all out!

My favorite shelf of books.

That seagull is named Jonathan after Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

This is my favorite picture in our house. Tyler drew this a couple years ago when he was obsessed with the inner workings of the human body. I love that it looks like he has hair plugs.

Wow! What a gorgeous space! I love that it looks so sparse from far away but that you have all these little details when you start looking around. That is what spells home to me. The pipe you have hanging pictures from is a great idea! We have one wall in our house that is CEMENT, and since we rent, I loathe the idea of putting huge gaping holes in it...the pipe might be the perfect solution! And I love your jewelry rack with the twigs. Fantastic solution :D

I'd LOVE to have a concrete wall! I had actually thought of using a long branch for the photos until I found that pipe.

I DID! I had a great deal on a 16x20 canvas. I wouldn't use this company for clients but it's great for my home :)
